Dr. Richard F. Heath joined the Faculty of the College in 1996 and is currently Professor of Psychology. He is also Director of Pathways, the program for selected students with learning disabilities at St. Thomas Aquinas College. Dr. Heath holds the B.A. degree (Summa
cum Laude) from Alvernia College with a dual major in Psychology and Mathematics.
He holds the M.A. degree in Psychology and the Ph.D. degree in Clinical
Psychology, both from Fordham University.
Dr. Heath was previously
Chief Psychologist and Assistant Clinical Professor in the Learning
Disabilities Unit of the SUNY/State College of Optometry in New York
City. In addition, he served as Assistant Professor of Psychology
at Ramapo College in Mahwah, New Jersey.
Dr. Heath is Faculty
Advisor to the College's Psychology Club and to the College's Chapter
of Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology. He has presented
on learning disabilities at both local and international conferences,
and he testified as an expert witness on adult learning disabilities
assessment in Bartlett v. New York State Board of Law Examiners.
His teaching interests focus on personality, abnormal psychology, testing
and assessment, and the psychology of literature.
