Program Requirements
The MSEd. Literacy Curriculum requires the completion of 36 credit hours. The 36 credits are grouped as follows:
- Core Courses (6 credits)
- Literacy Specialization (21 credits)
- Capstone Experiences (9 credits)

MSEd. and Post-Master’s Literacy Program Admission Requirements
Admission Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited undergraduate institution.
- A teaching certificate.
- A cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale. The Division of Teacher Education reserves the right to require GRE scores from promising candidates whose GPA falls below this standard.
- Evidence of potential to complete a graduate degree in education, to be provided through letters of professional references and a statement of professional goals.
- An interview with the Director of Graduate Education.
- For Post-Master’s applicants, a transcript verifying completion of a master’s degree.
