Courses in medical technology

As a medical technology student, you’ll follow a similar course of study as our biology students, including biology, anatomy and physiology, microbiology, chemistry and physics. In your senior year, however, you’ll complete a full-time clinical internship at an AMA-approved medical technology school. St. Thomas Aquinas College is formally affiliated with the School of Medical Technology of the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey.


Careers in medical technology

The U.S. Department of Labor reports that jobs for medical technologists will grow faster than the average for jobs in other fields. Medical technology graduates can find employment in hospitals and medical centers, veterinary laboratories, biological research facilities, pharmaceutical companies, government agencies, accreditation offices and environmental and crime labs.
