Alumni can continue to participate in the life of their alma mater in many ways. STAC Alumni continue to provide leadership, guidance, and expertise as members of the College's Board of Trustees and the President's Council.
Alumni as well as Friends of the College can serve as volunteer leaders for many of the College's fund raising campaigns, as members of various campus planning committees, and as Alumni/Admissions Volunteers. Alumni and Friends are also called upon to guest lecture in classes and to participate in career panels and job fairs.
Alumni and Friends of the College are also encouraged to participate in the life of the College through their financial support of the STAC Fund and other campaigns. These contributions enable the College to continually enhance academic programs and services, increase scholarship assistance, expand library resources, and upgrade computer and laboratory technology.
Moreover, when Alumni and Friends make a gift each year, regardless of the amount, this is an important endorsement of the College and its mission. Corporations, philanthropic foundations, and other funding agencies, including college rating guides, consider the strength of Alumni giving when they evaluate the College’s request for funding support or are ranking the institution, as in the case of college guide publications.
In addition to The STAC Fund, we encourage you to consider establishing a Commemorative or Memorial Scholarship in honor of family members or as a memorial to friends or relatives. These funds enable STAC to offer the financial assistance to worthy students, helping to assure that they can achieve their academic goals.
Making a Gift of appreciated securities, real estate, or life insurance are also welcome, and may provide valuable tax benefits to the donor. Naming the College as a beneficiary in a will or trust allows one to make a substantial gift to the College while reducing estate taxes. In addition, life income plans such as charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts can be arranged. The College will provide help you secure qualified estate planning and legal advice.
