Dear Students:

We’re very happy that you are considering a major within the Division of Humanities at St. Thomas Aquinas College. Our alumni have gone on to a variety of promising careers because they develop valuable skills such as thinking critically, reading analytically, doing research, and communicating effectively.

These abilities, along with an extensive understanding of a specific major, prepare our students for the life-long professional development they’ll need to succeed in graduate school and in careers in our rapidly changing world of business. A degree in the humanities, combined with other personal skills, interests, and strengths will position a St. Thomas student for success upon graduation.

We offer several majors in the humanities and our campus is home to a variety of labs and studios specifically designed for students within this division. From our digital imaging and language labs to our fine arts and television studios, we encourage our students to learn beyond traditional means.

In addition to hands on learning in the classroom there are numerous internships available for humanities majors. Students receive college credit and are supervised by faculty as well as a professional at the internship site, and many of our students have said that the internship was the most rewarding learning experience of their careers.

I would be happy to meet with you for a personal visit. Simply contact me at (845) 398-4125 or rmurray@stac.edu and we’ll set up a convenient time for you.

I look forward to seeing you on campus!

Dr. Robert Murray, Chair
Division of Humanities
