Areas of teaching and
research: Dr. Plasencia is the Coordinator of the Modern Language
Discipline. He has lived, studied and traveled in several Spanish-speaking
countries. His primary literary interest
is the contemporary Hispanic essay. As a result, he has published
several articles and given numerous presentations on such writers as
Miguel de Unamuno, José Ortega y Gasset, José Vasconcelos
and Antonio Pedreira. He teaches all
levels of Spanish as well as courses in culture and literature.
