Computer Science at St. Thomas Aquinas College

There are exciting opportunities in Computer Science as we continue to move through an era of unprecedented growth in the field. Our faculty members breathe life into their classrooms and recently developed new learning tracks for our Computer Science students.

We would like you to visit with us and see for yourself just how you can apply your skills to a major in the Computer Sciences. For now, read on…

Q: Why major in Computer Science?

A: Computer scientists are, and will continue to be, in high demand
An examination of any study of the needs for professionals in the future shows computer scientists at or near the top of the list.  Every organization has technology problems to solve and it is difficult now and will become even more difficult in the future to find people with the knowledge and experience of a computer scientist.

Your Value
As technology continues to develop at a breakneck pace, computer scientists will be instrumental in finding better solutions to some of the world's most important problems such as disease, the world’s environmental emergency, the current energy dilemma and world hunger. Since computer science is about problem solving, the skills and habits that are learned are transferable to almost any other field. That is why many computer science majors go on to successful careers in other fields (e.g., engineering, management, law and medicine).
