NY - October 16, 2006) - St. Thomas Aquinas College
will host a Fall Open House for high school, transfer
and adult students interested in the College's
undergraduate degree offerings, on Sunday, November
12, 11a.m. to 3p.m., on the College's campus.
Tours of St. Thomas' 48-acre campus will include
visits to the newly renovated Sullivan Theatre,
Costello Hall, a 21st century arts, science and
technology building, and the College's technology
corridor in Spellman Hall. Several computer labs,
including a Macintosh-outfitted graphic design
lab and a foreign language lab are housed in the
Technology Corridor.
Students and family members can tour the award-winning
McNelis Commons townhouse complex, home to resident
students. McNelis Commons has a central dining
hall and laundry facility. Aquinas Village, an
independent residence complex, accommodates up
to 225 students. In 2005, an additional residence
hall was added to the Aquinas Village and is the
college's newest building.
Tours will include the Lougheed Library and the
Joseph F. Romano Student-Alumni Center, which
houses the College's student personnel service
offices, and facilities such as the campus store,
Spartan Grille, and the Thomist Yearbook, Thoma
Student Newspaper, and WSTK, the campus radio
station.
"The
Open House is an excellent way for high school
students to gain insight into our offerings and
get a first hand look at our campus," said
Mr. Vin Crapanzano, the College's Dean of Enrollment
Management and Marketing.
Presentations will focus on How to Meet College
Costs, Academic Life at St. Thomas, Living on
Campus, Student Activities, and The Admissions
and Financial Aid Process.
Individuals can discuss academic offerings with
members of the faculty. In addition, information
regarding the College's Honors Programs, the Higher
Education Opportunity Program (HEOP), the Pathways
program (students with learning process dysfunction)
and scholarship opportunities will be available.
St. Thomas Aquinas College offers 31 undergraduate
degree programs and several masters degree programs,
including an MSEd, MST and MBA program, each with
a variety of specializations. The College's 48-acre,
campus is on Route 340 in Sparkill, Rockland County.

MORE ABOUT ST. THOMAS
St. Thomas has expanded its offerings to include:
a Master of Science in Education, a Post Masters
Certificate program in Education, a Master of
Science in Teaching, a Master of Business Administration
program, a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science
and Bachelor of Science in Education, and an Associate
of Arts and an Associate of Science degree, the
latter two offered at the West Point Military
Academy. In addition, St. Thomas is the host campus
for a Master of Science in Social Work program
offered by New York University.
The
College's 2,000 full and part time undergraduate
students major in one of 31 programs offered in
five division areas: The Humanities; Business
Administration; Social Sciences; Natural Sciences
& Mathematics; and Teacher Education. The
College offers a full scholarship Honors Program
which provides students with a Summer Study experience
at Oxford University in England. In addition,
there are several study abroad opportunities and
strategic alliances designed to offer expanded
opportunities for students. For example, students
can major in mathematics at St. Thomas for three
years and then enter an engineering program at
either George Washington University or Manhattan
College as part of a dual degree program.
St.
Thomas offers study abroad opportunities in Ireland,
Italy, Hungary, Nova Scotia, Brazil and Japan.
The College currently includes 21 buildings, the
most recent one an additional residence hall.
It's most recent academic building project is
Costello Hall, an Art, Sciences & Technology
Building. This state-of-the-art facility includes
new science labs, an art gallery and two multi-media
theatres along with additional technology classrooms.
