Title: Mathematics Tutor
Location: Off Campus & Borelli Hall, Room 106

Required Hours: minimum 40 hours total:
Approximately 4 hours per week, January 29 – April 20, 2018
(no hours during Spring Break)
Position Description: This is an ideal position for a student with a strong enough mathematics background to tutor middle school level mathematics. The position will require a combination of helping to prepare childhood candidates for the math section of the Childhood Content Specialty Test for childhood certification and tutoring in the after school program of a local middle or elementary school.
This position is designed to develop valuable teaching skills which would enhance the resume of any teacher education candidate. The position will also enable the student to “get a foot in the door” at local schools. Although primarily intended for SOE candidates, the position is open to all Aquinas Leaders with a strong background in mathematics and an interest in working with children.
Dr. Reynolds will work closely with the student in preparing materials and reflecting on the children’s mathematical thinking.
