Is an Early Admissions Program Available?
STAC has rolling admissions (you can apply anytime throughout the year). As soon as we have your completed application and supporting materials we will notify you of an admissions decision in about three weeks. We recommend students interested in special program (i.e. honors and pathways apply as early as possible during their senior year).
What programs are offered for veterans and active military personnel and their families?
St. Thomas Aquinas College is proud to support our veterans in their pursuit of a higher education degree. We offer several scholarship and aid packages to help cover the financial commitment of attending an institution of higher learning. Learn More >>>
Is there an orientation for freshmen and/or transfers?
Yes, we offer freshmen orientation programs in June, July and August (you can choose the date that fits your schedule). We offer a spring transfer orientation in January and a fall transfer orientation in August.
Can more than one set of SAT and/or ACT scores be submitted for evaluation? If so, are the best sub scores combined to achieve the highest total?
Yes to both, we will always take the best combination of scores and can re-evaluate if a student has already applied and then takes either or both tests again.
Are internships available for students? If so, what majors?
Yes internships are available for students of all majors. Some majors such as Communication Arts, Psychology, and Therapeutic Recreation require internships for graduation. Please refer to the College Catalog for specifics.
Does the College offer student abroad programs?
Yes, study abroad programs are available to all students and vary by semester and include England, France, Spain, Italy, Finland, Nicaragua, and many more.
Does the College honor Advanced Placement (AP) or College Level Examination Program (CLEP) credits?
Yes, we award credit for scores of 3, 4, and 5 on AP Exams and award credit for passing CLEP scores.
Is there a tutoring available for students who need assistance in their classes?
Yes, The Center for Academic Excellence offers peer tutoring for all students free of charge. The Center also hosts workshops to assist students with time management and study skills.
Can resident students have cars on campus?
All students (even freshmen) can have cars on campus. All cars have to be registered with the Office of Campus Safety and Security.
Are students required to purchase a meal plan?
All resident students are required to purchase a meal plan. Incoming freshmen have a set unlimited meal plan. Other meal plan options are available to upperclassman. Commuter students also have the option of purchasing any of our meal plans.
Who accredits the College?
The Middle States Association Board of Regents, the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), and the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).
What athletic facilities are on campus for general student use?
Gym, fitness center & weight room, tennis courts.
What are the current tuition and room & board costs?
For 2011-2012, tuition with fees is $23,720 and room & board is about $10,650.
Does the College offer Athletic Scholarships?
Yes, we participate in NCAA Division II athletics and scholarships are available.
Does the College offer Graduate Programs?
Yes, we offer the following Graduate programs:
Masters of Science in Education (MSEd) (For students who have an undergraduate degree in education)
Masters of Science in Teaching (MST) (For students who do not have an undergraduate degree in education)
Masters of Business Administration (MBA) (Offered on campus and online)
Does a student have to declare a major immediately?
No, but they do have to declare by the end of the sophomore year. About 30% of our traditional freshmen come into the College as undeclared.
