Erica Soto is a television and digital media producer who has produced content for several companies, including Facebook, Instagram, NBC, Viacom and NPR. With experience in both audio and visual storytelling she strives to create stories that are accessible on a wide variety of media platforms. As an Imagen Award winner for a bilingual docuseries she produced, Erica is passionate about including a variety of demographics and perspectives in her storytelling. She is also deeply committed to creating a classroom and newsroom that is diverse and inclusive.

Erica was first drawn to St. Thomas Aquinas College due to its diverse student population and vision to help students prepare for career success. As a part of the Communication Arts program Erica teaches a range of media courses; including Television Journalism, Media Law & Ethics and Writing for Broadcast Media. She enjoys using cutting-edge technology and multimedia to engage with students in both visual and kinesthetic learning. Erica is excited to bring her experience to the college where she can help students live out their dreams of working in the media industry.

In her past time Erica enjoys attending live music shows and finding indie artists who she can feature on her website. When she’s not teaching you can find her spending time with her family exploring different boroughs and documenting her vibrant and comical three-year-old son.
