Dr. Shultz has a background in American literature, composition studies, and social science research. She teaches a variety of courses at STAC, including Writing 101 and 102, American Autobiography, Graphic Novels, American Lit to 1900, Lit & Gender, African American Lit, and First Year Seminar. In the summers she teaches for the HEOP program or at Sullivan Correctional Facility. She also serves as the Writing Program Director, NCAA Faculty Athletic Representative, faculty sponsor of the national honor societies Chi Alpha Sigma and Sigma Tau Delta, and faculty co-sponsor of the Gender Sexuality Alliance Club. In her spare time, she reads, presents her research on fan fiction and other pop culture practices at national conferences, travels with her hubby, hikes with her dog, and practices yoga.
