Getting Started: School of Business Internship Checklist

  • Meet with the Director of Experiential Learning to discuss process, procedures and requirements.
  • Identify your site. Internships can be obtained several ways:
    • On your own through your own resources and contacts.
    • Through referrals received from the Director of Experiential Learning and/or from faculty.
    • Through the Career Development Office if obtaining a Non-Credit Internship.
  • Construct your Resume. Check with the Career Development office for scheduled Resume Writing workshops. 
  • Obtain and complete the School of Business Internship application and submit to the Director of Experiential Learning one month prior to the semester’s start date.
  • Meet with your assigned Faculty Internship Advisor to review academic requirements needed to complete Internship. 
  • Submit requests for two faculty members to complete the required recommendation forms found in the Application.
  • After academic approval is achieved, schedule and confirm interview with potential Internship Supervisor.
  • Confirm arrangements with Director of Experiential Learning: 
    • Starting and ending dates
    • Scheduled days and hours
    • Policies and procedures of the company
  • Complete the Business Internship course registration form found in the Internship application packet. Obtain Internship approval from the Director of Experiential Learning and register for the course.
