Assistant Professor of Education
Dr. Rossi received her Ph.D. in Literature, Reading, and Media Education from New York University in 2014. After several years teaching in urban high schools in south Florida and Manhattan, she now teaches at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Dr. Rossi’s research focuses on academic literacy, especially on writing and for urban populations. She has presented at national and state conferences with the National Council of Teachers of English, the American Educational Research Association, the New York State Council for Exceptional Children, and the Florida Council of Teachers of English. Her most recent publication was an article co-authored with John Mayher, Ed.D, for English in Australia.
Dr. Rossi was awarded a St. Thomas Aquinas Faculty Development Grant in 2014 which supported a study investigating the meanings and purposes of academic writing across the three Schools at the College.
