As an art education major at STAC, you’ll take studio courses and art history courses so you learn the techniques and theory necessary to teach art to children and adolescents. Our art education students complete coursework in Inclusive Art Education in order to pursue New York State Certification.
Our studio-based, hands-on approach to art education will hone your skills as an artist while teaching you the “art” of teaching art.
Careers
Art provides a way for people to express motivations and feelings, so although an art education degree prepares you to teach art in the classroom (grades K-12), it also prepares you for a career in community centers, museums, retirement centers, healthcare facilities, and more.
