Journey to Success with Clayton F. Ruebensaal at STAC's Fireside Chat

St. Thomas Aquinas College will host Clayton F. Ruebensaal III, executive vice president, Global Marketing at American Express for a “fireside chat” on Thursday, January 31, 2019, in the College’s Lougheed Library, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. “STAC Fireside Chats are a wonderful opportunity for our students to engage with successful leaders. It thrills us to have Clayton share his unique journey to success,” stated Karen Wright, vice president for institutional advancement at the College. She added further, “we are also thrilled to have Professor Christine Cahill, Esq., assistant dean of the School of Business, moderating." The event is free and open to the public.

Mr. Ruebensaal was named one of the world’s most influential global marketers by The Internationalist. He has held leadership roles at some of the world’s most creatively awarded advertising agencies including running the New York office of British agency BMB and leading E*trade, Pepsi, and The Economist accounts as executive vice president at BBDO. Before joining American Express, Clayton led global marketing at The Ritz-Carlton where he launched their “Let Us Stay With You” brand platform, which put the luxury brand in the business of selling memories, not hotel rooms.

As Executive Vice President of Global Marketing for the Global Commercial Services business, Mr. Ruebensaal leads US and International prospect and customer marketing channels across all customer segments, from small businesses to the largest global corporations. He manages the global digital and solicited acquisition, customer relationship management, field enablement, dialogic and partner distribution.

Before this role, Mr. Ruebensaal served as the head of Global Brand Management where he developed the company’s new global brand strategy which unified all markets and brought together business-to-business and business-to-consumer positioning. From setting the strategy to optimizing budgets to leading a best-in-class design team, Ruebensaal focused on enabling colleagues across the enterprise to grow the value of the Brand.

Under his leadership, the company implemented the first-ever global brand strategy, which focused on increasing price premium and generating loyalty across consumer, commercial and merchant customers. The brand strategy his team authored aligned human resources, operations, marketing and servicing to deliver an authentic brand experience end-to-end.
