Latin Honors for Academic Performance
Like most colleges and universities, St. Thomas Aquinas College observes the great tradition of recognizing students who have an overall record of high academic achievement by granting what many call “Latin Honors” on commencement day.
To be so honored, students must have earned 60 credits or more at St. Thomas Aquinas College, have never received any grade lower than a C, and have the appropriate Grade Point Average for the level of honors.
The Academic Honors
Cum Laude (With Honor) means the student is graduating with an overall Grade Point Average of 3.50 or higher.
Magna Cum Laude (With High Honor) means the student is graduating with an overall Grade Point Average of 3.65 or higher.
Summa Cum Laude (With Highest Honor) means the student is graduating with an overall Grade Point Average of 3.80 or higher.
Honors at graduation are awarded to students whose cumulative quality point index meets the following criteria:
M.S. Ed. and MST with Distinction, 3.80
MBA with Distinction, 3.85
MPA-CJ with Distinction, 3.85
