NOTE:  CAPS has resumed in-person appointments.  The office will continue offering Teletherapy/Video appointments depending on a student's needs and/or preferences.  In-person appointments may be subject to STAC's COVID-19 safety guidelines regarding physical distancing and the use of masks/face coverings.  In addition, students may be asked to display their “Green Pass” on the STAC Engage App prior to entering the CAPS office.  New and returning students may call the CAPS office at 845-398-4065 to schedule an appointment.  Students may indicate their preference for an in-person or video appointment. For students choosing Teletherapy/Video appointments, instuctions may be found by clicking on the "Scheduling an Appointment" tab on the left side of this page and scrolling down to "Teletherapy Appointments Utilizing Doxy."

Welcome to the Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) website at St. Thomas Aquinas College (STAC).  CAPS is a component of the Office of Student Development and offers a wide range of free services to currently enrolled STAC students.  Services include: time-limited individual psychotherapy; counseling; crisis intervention; preventative outreach programming; and consultative services.  CAPS is located on the upper level of the Romano Student Alumni Center (across from the Campus Bookstore).  The Office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, during normal College business hours.  Feel free to review the contents of this website.  Individuals interested in scheduling an appointment may do so in person or by phone.
