Let’s continue celebrating Social Justice and Equity at STAC together!
As a community, we can make a difference, and one way to do that is through learning and sharing. Social Justice and Equity Week is for all of us to do just that. We will hold virtual events from Thursday, October 8th to Thursday, October 15th. Each day will be dedicated to a specific virtual segment that you can attend and also participate in.
Check out the schedule.
Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at 5 PM: Black Lives Matter: A Conversation with Law Enforcement
Let’s talk about it! The Black Lives Matter protests that took place all over the world recently presented society with an opportunity to get on the same page. With that, came a need for citizens and Law Enforcement to communicate on the issues and what’s next as we try to cohabitate in a safe environment for all. This conversation will allow us to hear different perspectives as we strive to effect change positively. Join us, listen, and learn at this groundbreaking event.
Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at 6 PM: Student Performance Contest and a Netflix Documentary
Cheer on your peers as they perform live through our virtual platform. You will get to enjoy poetry, songs, skits, and more performed by students just like you and watch a Netflix documentary! Want to join the fun? All are welcome. Submit your performance submission here! There will be great prizes for our winner and a supportive audience eager to see what you come up with!
Thursday, October 15, 2020, at 6 PM: Social Justice and Equity Panel featuring STAC
Together we stand tall against social injustices. Let’s have a discussion and hear from our very own in the STAC community about how we continue to move in the right direction. This panel will include administrators, faculty, staff, and students. You will have the opportunity to share your thoughts and ask questions.
The next Social Justice and Equity Week is coming sooner than you think. Have an idea for a future event? Submit it here!
