STAC students have been directly hurt by this pandemic. Some will lose summer internships, some the start of a career they thought secured, many will face greater financial challenges to complete their degrees. Our student-athletes lost game experiences they will never get back. The classes of 2020 - our graduates and incoming freshmen- have lost the social bonding of campus commencements, proms, and private celebrations with family and friends. In response, we have established the COVID-19 Relief Fund.
The fund will have three goals:
- First, support our 2020 graduating seniors to enable them to pursue a graduate degree in one of our Schools.
- Secondly, to provide scholarships to high school graduates who decide to join our community as incoming freshmen.
- Thirdly, for our returning students now more financially challenged, scholarships to complete their requirements for a degree or, and / or to live on campus.
We’re calling on companies and individuals to come together to help the most vulnerable during this crisis. We need to support our students and look for ways to help their families navigate these waters so that a STAC degree is still their sons and daughters’ destiny. In the last few months, we’ve seen great kindness, support and solidarity, and remarkable fortitude by our faculty, students and staff, and the broader worldwide community. It is during times like these that courage, generosity and resilience make a difference.
We thank you for partnering with us to build this Fund. Perhaps, skip a latte or two and donate that money to the fund each month. Or, if you can, make a one-time gift.
Your generosity will make a difference by allowing Spartans to continue the pursuit of their degrees.
